Mr. Johnson joined NovoSci in June 2006. He brings over 30-years proven sales and sales management experience with diverse lines of medical device products. His technical sales knowledge spans a number of markets, including anesthesia, infant care, cardiovascular, ob-gyn, dialysis, interventional radiology and cardiology. He has been directly responsible for establishing, managing, and working with both direct and independent sales organizations, introducing new products and increasing sales of existing products.
Prior to NovoSci, Mr. Johnson worked for PDI, Inc. (NASDAQ: PDII), a contract sales and marketing organization serving the biopharmaceutical industry. He served as Regional Sales Manager for a start-up division of this $100 million company from late 2001 to 2004, when the division was closed by the parent company.
In 2001, Mr. Johnson was appointed Regional Sales Manager for the U.S. subsidiary of German company Jostra AG, the predecessor of NovoSci. In late 2001, the restructuring of Jostra was announced. Due to the uncertainty of the company's future, he elected to pursue another opportunity and was recruited by PDI, Inc.
From 1999 to 2001, Mr. Johnson was employed by Jomed NV, a Swiss cardiovascular device supplier, where he was (US?) Director of Sales.
During the time period of 1978 to 1999, Mr. Johnson held sales and sales management positions with the following medical device companies:
- Utah Medical Products (1994-1999)
- Cardiometrics (1993-1994)
- Ohmeda (1984-1993)
- Baxter (1979-1984
- Medical, Inc. (1975-1978)
Mr. Johnson is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a major in economics. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve and is a Vietnam veteran.
